You are not getting the full story with celebrity weight loss pitches. Even though these celebrities may be using the advertised weight loss product (that works minimally, if at all), they have access to other products that you don’t. That’s a topic for another article.
There are many lies about weight loss in the media and many people believe them.
Here are the 3 Top Weight Loss Lies Pitched by Celebrities:
1. They pitch commercial weight loss programs with pre-packaged foods.
The eating approach that always works to transform your body is based on improving your eating habits, not eating pre-packaged foods. If you don’t have a meal plan yet, here are some things you can start doing today to improve your eating habits:
Drink only water or unsweetened drinks for beverages
Severely limit candy, cookies, pastries, junk food and processed foods
Eat at least one fruit or vegetable with every meal
Eat protein with every meal, such as eggs, fish, nuts or lean chicken/beef/turkey
Eat small meals, every 3-4 hours
Start writing down what and why you eat to hold yourself accountable
2. They promote a secret new pill or program to lose weight almost overnight.
You’ve seen the ads for diet patches or creams that claim to melt away the pounds. Don’t believe them. There’s nothing you can wear or apply to your skin that will cause you to lose weight.
Doctors, nutritionists, fitness trainers and other experts also agree that there is no magic non-prescription pill that will allow you to block the absorption of fat, carbs or calories. The key to curbing your craving for those “downfall foods” is portion control and eating quality calories from whole foods.
3. Celebrity emails with the “secret” to losing belly fat without exercise or dieting.
This is idiotic! Achieving lasting fat loss and weight loss takes work. Take a pass on any product that promises miraculous weight loss results without the effort.
This crazy dance between unscrupulous weight loss advertisers and willing consumers has been going on for almost 300 years. Yes, that’s right… 300 years!
And for 300 years… none of this stuff has ever worked long-term.
Businesses are trying to make money off of you and they’ll lie, tell half-truths or present unproven facts to get it. You have to make a choice to believe or not believe those lies.
Fad dieters are always looking for the next pill, diet or fat blocker to change their bodies. The dream never comes true. The best way to burn fat and lose weight is to eat higher quality calories, exercise regularly and increase your daily activity. Don’t look for shortcuts.
